My name is Monica Hickombottom Smith and I am a Cancer Survivor!
Only by God's grace I am Cancer-free and a living testimony. It was no surprise to me when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer due to a long family history of cancer. But I knew one thing I was going to fight til the end and not let Cancer win this battle. Through lots of tears and sleepless nights I decided to undergo a major surgery to remove the cancer which meant bypassing chemo and radiation. Not only was this a life changing ordeal it affected me physically but more so mentally knowing my life would never be the same. It wasn't until that early morning in May God spoke to me and said body parts don't define you your life has been sparred. Get up go tell your story and help someone overcome what you just CONQUERED. Going through my trials and tribulations with Breast Cancer Monica's Hope was founded in August 2014. Monica's Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to help Cancer patients in the Miss-Lou area with financial assistance whether its to cover transportation cost to and from doctors visits or treatment centers. Our mission is to empower not only women but individuals about the importance of early detection.
